LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine lacrosse team will play their fifth and final midweek game of the season, the first at home, Tuesday against Hampton. Opening faceoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
The Knights (4-5) are coming off a hard-fought 13-10 win over longtime rival Robert Morris on Saturday and will have a chance to even their record at 5-5.
The Pirates (0-6) come to Newburg Road out of the Coastal Athletic Association and are looking for their first win since they earned a pair in back-to-back games in 2023. Sebastian West leads Hampton 10 points on three goals and seven assists. AJ Knox leads the team with eight goals, while Darius Stanley has four goals and four assists for eight points. Knox scored four of his team-best eight goals in the loss to Iona on February 9.
Bellarmine has swept its previous three games against Hampton by a combined score of 67-15, including 23-7 last season. In the 2024 contest,
Benny O'Rourk tallied eight points, one shy of matching the program record, while
John Alie scored four goals and
Aidan Fearn won 11 of 17 faceoffs.

John Alie is 1st in the ASUN/16th nationally averaging 4.78 points and 2nd in the ASUN/17th nationally averaging 3.11 goals. On March 1 at LIU, he tied a program record by dishing out 5 assists, with four going to younger brother
Joe Alie. On February 26, he was named to the USILA Division I Team of the Week following his performances on February 18 at Cleveland State (tied a program record with 6 goals and registered 8 points, one short of matching the BU record) and February 22 against Detroit Mercy (3 goals, 2 assists). Alie was named the ASUN Offensive Player of the Week three consecutive weeks from February 11-26. The Aurora, CO, native leads the Knights with 28 goals, 15 assists and 43 points and has registered hat tricks in five of nine games this season.

Freshman attack
Ezra Moore registered 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists) Saturday against Robert Morris and tallied a career-high 6 points (3 goals, 3 assists) last Tuesday at Marquette. He is 2nd on Bellarmine with 14 assists and 3rd with 14 goals. He is 7th in the ASUN averaging 1.56 assists per game and has registered three hat tricks.
Power Alie, The Younger
Freshman attack
Joe Alie, younger brother of John, recorded 2 goals and 1 assist Saturday versus RMU. He ranks 2nd in the ASUN/T-11th nationally with his .500 shot percentage. He is 2nd on Bellarmine with 17 goals and 3rd with 20 points. On February 22 versus Detroit Mercy, he scored a career-high 5 goals (one shy of matching the program record) in a 16-4 win. He also added an assist for a career-high 6 points and caused his first career turnover. He has scored multiple goals in five of nine games.
Freshman Keeper
Nolan Hudnut made 12 saves against RMU and is 2nd in the ASUN with his .489 save percentage. He saved a career-high 18 shots both at Long Island and at Marquette and has recorded double-digit saves in all but one game this season.
